GRAB A CAN !!!!
We are so grateful for the continued generosity of our parish to the Open Cupboard Food Pantry. Their staff often expresses their appreciation for our non-stop efforts to support families and senior citizens in the community. As a reminder, we are asking for any healthy, non-perishable food item. Suggestions range from cereal to juice to canned soups and vegetables. Please note, too, that the Food Pantry accepts gift cards and checks, if you find this an easier way to donate to their services.
With blessings to you all,
Suzanne and Katie Higgins
Our community continues to be in dire need of our help, particularly with the devastating effects the COVID pandemic has had on already fragile families. While the local Open Cupboard lists monthly “needs” to guide volunteers in their donations, we know that sensible, thoughtful food items always are most welcome. And, as the volunteers at the Pantry have told me several times, they are grateful for all donations.
Recently, one of the volunteers mentioned to me that, “it only takes each person to donate one food item to make a difference.” With this thought in mind, we are initiating a new campaign for the Pantry. Titled, “Grab a Can,” this is a reminder to you to simply grab an extra can, or item, of something you are purchasing for yourself. And, while the Food Pantry does list their current needs, this list can change from week to week. Therefore, any nutritious food item will be very welcome, such as: soup, cereal, vegetables, fruit, pasta, rice, and juice, to name a few.
You’d be amazed at how many donations we can accumulate if everyone brought in just one item every week for the Food Pantry. Our community relies on the generosity of people such as you to feed needy families. Please help us in our ongoing efforts to support our friends and neighbors.
Many thanks,
Katie and Suzanne Higgins

Food Pantry Express
"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat,…"
Matthew 25:35
Have you noticed all the wonderful donations in the Food Pantry Express on Sunday mornings? I love seeing the children pulling that wagon down the aisle for a blessing. The donations are certainly a blessing to those who must use the Food Pantry for some basic necessities each month.
