Children's Communion Class
All children ages 7-8 are invited to join Fr. Philip and Deacon Dot for a fun 5 week class to learn about Holy Eucharist. Older children who have not completed this series are welcome to join in. In the Episcopal Church, we do not celebrate "first communions," but have found it helpful to have a short series for our young ones to learn specifically about why we celebrate the Lord's Supper, the meaning of the elements, and how Episcopalians practice the rite. The children get to spend quality time with Fr. Phil and Deacon Dot. The Communion Class will run on Tuesdays from February 7th through March 7th from 4 to 5 pm in the St. Julian room. A celebration of the completion of the class will be held at the 10 am service. Please email Wendy Hallstrom at whhallstrom@gmail.com with any questions, and your child's name and age so we may prepare enough materials. -- Wendy Hallstrom (she/her/hers) whhallstrom@gmail.com |
The 2022-2023 curriculum is designed to follow the church lectionary. Most lessons will be tied to the weekly readings using several resources, including a new curriculum, Building Faith Brick by Brick, which incorporates Legos® in the learning process.

Communion Class
During Epiphany, Father Philip will lead a Communion Class for children ages 6 - 8. This is a 4-6 week series that meets on Tuesday afternoons after school. Father Philip teaches the mysteries of the Eucharist in an engaging and fun manner to help our youngsters understand why we celebrate Communion, what the words we pray mean, and how to respectfully accept (or decline) the holy elements.
Watch for more details, including enrollment information, closer to the date.
