EPIPHANY HOUSE BLESSING WORLD RECORD
On Friday, January 6th, Fr. Phil set out to start a World Record category: House Blessings. He blessed over 60 homes in 24 hours. He had at least 10 drivers signed up and Google Maps to get him around the area.
Epiphany celebrates the visit of the Magi. Doors are chalked with the year and CMB, the initials of the Three Kings: Caspar, Melchior and Balthazar. A home blessing means the kitchen, dining, and “den-family-living room” and one bedroom.
And at the end, here is what he said:
"24 Hour Epiphany Blessing= 64 Homes Blessed-64 doors chalked plus bedroom, kitchen, dining and living room and whole home, 2 horses, 16 chicken, several dozen dolls, dogs and cats, barn, chicken coop, brewery, wood shop, sacred burial ground, 8 drivers, 137 miles, wonderful cookies and teas and coffees and a lovely IPA! Thanks to the drivers, Jan Paxton for the google doc sign up, and the Holy Spirit for a loving presence in the homes of these lovely people."
