Worship Announcements

Posted August 14, 2026

Enriching Our Worship: This summer we started using the supplementary Eucharistic prayers found in Enriching Our Worship.  This resource has been written to “to provide additional resources to assist worshiping communities wishing to expand the language, images, and metaphors used in worship”.  It is helpful to change our prayers periodically in common worship to help us to be mindful of our thoughts, words, and deeds- what we pray shapes what we believe.
Musician Today: Thank you to Brian Savage for providing support for our congregational singing this morning.  We appreciate your talents and your ability to support our community in worship this week.  If there is anyone else in the congregation who would like to provide accompaniment for worship, please be sure to be in touch with Mother Kim.

Bread: This summer, we have been experimenting with the Communion Bread.  Because we believe that we are one body and share in one bread and one cup, our goal is to ensure that as many people as possible can participate in Holy Eucharist. While not all attempts thus far have been successful, your patience is appreciated, and we invite anyone with a gluten-free bread recipe to share it with us so we can try it.

Daughters of the King-  At CHS we have an active chapter of the Daughters of the King (DOK).  The Daughters of the King is an order of women (lay and ordained) who support one another in community and provide ongoing service in the congregation in which they are members.  According to the DOK website, a Christian order is a community of men or women living under a religious rule. The Daughters of the King accept a Rule of Life, so they define themselves as an order, not an organization. The community is found primarily in local chapters, but it extends around the world.  After a three-month period of study and discernment, each new member takes vows to uphold the two Rules of the Order, the Rule of Prayer and the Rule of Service.  This is a commitment that at least 7 members of CHS have made, and they are regularly working to support the prayer life of CHS- last year the Daughters wrote prayers of the people for the parish, and we are working to re-establish a ministry of healing prayers in the near future.   If you are interested in learning more about our chapter, please be in touch with Wendy Halstrom.

Summer Supply Priests – While Mother Kim is on vacation, services will continue at both 8am and 10am.  The following priests will celebrate Eucharist:
  • Sun. August 9 & 16, Rev. John Rollins
If you have any pastoral needs while Mother Kim is away, please contact Diane Hrozencik who will coordinate emergency needs.

Prayer List- There are two ways to include folks in this community's prayers.  You can add a name to the prayers of the people on Sunday morning by printing the name or concern neatly on the prayer sheet in the gathering space (narthex).  You can also share a prayer request with the prayer team at any time through the [email protected].
