Thank you to our SEARCH Committee — Well Done!

Please remember to thank the members of the Search Committee for their hard work, including Chair Rex van Veldhuisen, and members, Pat Egan, Marge Keller, Wendy Hallstrom, Jane Paradiso, Alison Schnaudt, Anne Simpson, Lindsay Wyglendowsky and vestry liaisons Andy Follansbee and Gary Scott.

"On behalf of the Vestry and the congregation we thank you for your service on the Search Committee. We could not have imagined what was ahead of us when Fr. Phil announced his retirement after 37 years at CHS. Speaking for the Wardens, we expected the process of selecting a new rector to be quicker and simpler than it turned out to be. We appreciate your time, effort and sheer “stick-to-it-iveness” as you persevered for fifteen months.

When Bishop Sally visited CHS on April 27, 2025, she commented that the search process “had entered uncharted territory; it’s unlike what has been known in the past”. And that was surely true. But with patience and waiting on the Holy Spirit, a path forward was knit together for us and, almost unexpectedly, we called a new rector. All the pieces fell into place for the good of Church of the Holy Spirit, and for the good of our new rector and her family.

We look forward to fresh, new energy in our church, and the excitement of not quite knowing what is in front of us; but knowing we will work together to bring it about. We look forward to hearing new voices and to hearing old voices with new ideas emerging to create our future life in Christ.
