January, 2025 Update

​At the present time the CHS Search Committee is waiting. The call or advertisement for a new parish rector has been circulating daily and/or weekly in numerous Episcopal forums since October 2024. The Diocese of New Jersey has received some responses to our call from clergy outside the United States. There have been two responses received domestically. However, The Diocese of New Jersey, after their vetting process, has not forwarded any of them to the CHS Search Committee for consideration. Additionally, a number of CHS parishioners have spoken to potential clergy they think may be a potential match for CHS.
We are told that we are a solid congregation, with our house in order and no skeletons in the closet. However, we are but one of many, many parishes seeking a parish priest. The pool of eligible, parish seeking priests is small these days. On top of that, we just completed the Church seasons of Advent and Christmas which are typically very busy times for the clergy. Clergy typically do not start to make moves in those church seasons.
So, the search Committee and the Wardens have met in the past 6 weeks and exchanged emails and phone calls with the Transition Ministry Office of The Diocese of New Jersey many times. We are tweeting our published call based on some feedback and continuing to cast our search looking for that candidate who will lead us.
