Congregational Prayer Project
We will be writing the prayers of the people for the Church of the Holy Spirit as a collaborative for the second half of the Season of Pentecost. In line with the liturgy's rubrics (guidelines) in the Book of Common Prayer, we can use the prewritten Prayers of the People, invite individuals in the community to write petitions (such as the Daughters of the King), or write our own. The understanding is that the prayers of the people reflect the congregation's needs and concerns. Between May 31 and June 28, we will gather input from any and all members of our worshipping community and use this information to create prayers unique to this congregation at this time.
Parish-Wide Read
Everyone in the congregation is invited to read the book “Church Tomorrow?” by The Rev. Stephanie Spellers between now and Labor Day. There are still books available if you have not gotten yours yet. Copies are available on the table by the name tag board or you stop by the office before you leave to pick up a copy. Cost per book is $16.25. There is also an electronic version available for e-readers. Join a small group in the Fall to discuss.
If you are interested in facilitating a small-group discussion about the book “Church Tomorrow?”, please contact Mother Kim. Currently, we have 4 folks who have agreed to lead groups in the Fall.
