Our Finances
CHS is a financially stable parish, and by God’s grace, the generosity of our parishioners has allowed us to fund specific projects not covered in our annual budget. Fiscal responsibility is a top priority, and our finances are overseen by an active team of eight long-standing members, many with professional experience in finance.
We steward our mission predominately through annual pledges, non-pledged giving from members and friends of the parish, facility rental income and proceeds from our annual service auction.
We hold true that engagement and connection drive spiritual commitment and giving. Our annual pledge cards incorporate not only a section indicating the financial pledge (treasure) but also the ministries the parishioner wants to participate in (time and talent).
In addition to raising funds, our Service Auction also fosters fellowship and community among parishioners all year.
In 2016 the CHS Endowment Fund was created to ensure funding for church enhancements. In 2024 a second endowment fund was established for future facility restorations, in honor of our former rector, Fr. Philip Carr-Jones. While these funds are currently small, we are developing plans to encourage contributions, including legacy giving.
To reduce costs, we have operated without paid church administrative personnel for several years. Instead, a dedicated team of parishioners volunteer their time and talent to running the office.
