The next meeting of Theology on Tap will be Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at the Bistro at the Marriott Courtyard Hotel (off I 78 on Cokesbury Road). We meet in the cafe section and we sit as far as we can from the bar, but the exact place may differ from week to week. So look around until you spot us.
We are switching to Tuesdays for Lent. Our new book is a collection of readings on the liturgical year entitled Between Memory and Hope. Since the book is out of print, Philip will photocopy the selections. These readings will be less of a challenge for us than some of the theological works we have considered.
If you wish to join us for this book, please let Philip know you need a copy.
To whet your appetite, here is a quotation from the introduction:
"...through feast and fast, through festival and preparation, the liturgical year celebrates the Presence of the already crucified and risen Christ among us... as we remember what he did 'once for all' in history (Heb 10:10), as we encounter his Presence among us now, and as we await his coming again in glory. But it's always one and the same Christ we remember and expect as we celebrate his abiding Presence in the Spirit and as we behold what that Presence means for us here and now through the multifaceted prism of Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, Pentecost, and through the lives of his saints throughout the ages."
