Moving Forward
In partnership with the new rector, we want to continue to grow as an innovative, dynamic and financially secure church. While staying true to our Episcopal liturgical roots, we look to make our services accessible to a more diverse population. This includes welcoming a variety of musical forms, while maintaining ties to traditional church music. It is also important to build on our community outreach programs. By reestablishing those that dropped away during the pandemic and creating new programs, we will fulfill our mission and potentially attract new members.
During this time of transition, the vestry and interim rector will focus their attention on the following priorities:
As we move forward, we seek a rector who will work with us to create a welcoming worship culture that is a lovely enriching experience, so we are able to pray and hear the words of Jesus (like Mary) and be better equipped to care for our parishioners and the greater community (like Martha).
During this time of transition, the vestry and interim rector will focus their attention on the following priorities:
- To ensure financial stability by
- increasing engagement and financial support from current members
- building up our planned giving (endowment and legacy) and capital projects funds
- To complete a "wellness check" to identify post-COVID initiatives, especially in the areas of
- music,
- administrative support,
- children and youth formation, and
- intra-parish dialogue.
As we move forward, we seek a rector who will work with us to create a welcoming worship culture that is a lovely enriching experience, so we are able to pray and hear the words of Jesus (like Mary) and be better equipped to care for our parishioners and the greater community (like Martha).
Prayer for a New Rector
Almighty God, who knows our needs even before we ask, grant us a spirit of faith and courage, that we may have the strength to meet the days to come with steadfastness and patience. Look graciously on this parish family and send forth your Holy Spirit to guide the search committee, the vestry, and our whole community to be of one heart and mind, that we may receive a faithful rector, who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries: through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
