FROM THE RECTOR Thank you to the auction committee for their hard work and a wonderful event. We look forward to hearing about the results of the auction. Please note that Mother Kim will be out of town from 10/20-27 attending the CREDO Conference. During this time, there will be no Lectio Divina or any of her regularly scheduled meetings, but clergy will provide pastoral care if needed From Leadership This week, we announced that we have called our new Minister of Music, George Fernandes. We sent the email with details about his vocation and call on Tuesday, September 29. If you did not receive it and would like a hard copy of the letter, there are copies in the narthex. If you are not on our parish email list and would like to be included for future communications, please contact the Church office at [email protected]. We are very excited to have George joining us in a few short weeks. Choir and musicians, make sure you plan to attend rehearsal and a small meet-and-greet and rehearsal with him on Tuesday, October 20, 2026- contact Tricia Simpson for additional details. The nominating committee will meet soon to identify individuals to approach for open vestry seats, the senior warden role, and the treasurer position for 2027. If you are interested in serving in any of these capacities, please contact a member of the committee - Beth Mahoney, Gary Scott, or Susan Kane to express your interest. FROM THE DIOCESE & THE EPISCOPAL CHURCH (AT LARGE)
The next convocation gathering will take place on Thursday, Oct. 29, for a Potluck Dinner and discussion at St. Francis, 400 New Market Rd, Dunellen, from 6:30-8:00 pm. Our convocation delegates are Roberta Maas and Julia Rydell. But all are welcome to join in this opportunity to celebrate and get to know other Episcopalians in our region. If you would like to bring something for the potluck, email Mother Kim for the list The Right Rev. Sally French has returned from the 2026 House of Bishops’ Meeting, where The Archbishop of Canterbury, The Right Rev. Sara Mullaly, addressed concerns facing the global church, its members and all baptized ministers. If you’d like to read a summary of the events, visit www.theepiscopalchurch.org and search for “House of Bishops Summary”. The report from the House of Bishop’s ends with a hopeful note : As we move from fear to hope, we are called to live now as an embodied sign of God’s future. To draw near to those who weep. To bear the burdens of those who are suffering. To work for justice, healing, and reconciliation. To stand in confidence that God, not fear or death, will have the final word.’ Comments are closed.
