Interfaith Sacred Journey ministry is a religious and cultural educational experience open to anyone interested. This is an opportunity for participants to deepen their spirituality, connect and learn about other faith traditions. Along with the dispelling and dismantling of myths, misconceptions, preconceived ideas and misunderstandings about other faith traditions by learning and experiencing firsthand. It is also an opportunity for participants to apply God’s second greatest commandment to Love Thy Neighbor....who does not worship like us.
Interfaith Sacred Journey participants are able to participate in a religious service that is either not Christian or an Orthodox service. The visits include the Hunterdon Islam Center of Hunterdon County/Mosque, SRI Venkateswara Temple in Bridgewater, Saint Anna Orthodox Greek Church in Flemington, Kadampa Meditation World Peace Buddhist Temple in Glen Spey NY, Flemington Jewish Community Center, Garden State Sikh Association/Temple in Basking Ridge and the Ukrainian Orthodox Mother church in Bound Brook.

At each faith tradition visit, we attend their religious service, a guided tour, along with an educational class which includes a Q&A session. In some cases, before or at the end of our visit we may have the opportunity to sit down with community members (or just our group) for a lovely cultural lunch and an interesting and lively exchange of dialogue. In most cases, the visits are kept to about two faith traditions a month usually on a Friday or Saturday from 31 May to 30 August. You can attend all of the visits or only the faith traditions you are interested in learning about or are available to attend. All are welcome...family, friends and neighbors.
Space is limited so if you are interested in joining the Interfaith Sacred Journey summer visits, please email Deacon Michelleslie Maltese at Michelleslies[email protected].
