In some ways, CHS is like a small business, and we have strict financial procedures from the Diocese for everything from counting and deposition of the offerings to accounting, reporting, and implementing safeguards. The Finance Committee meets monthly and reviews in depth the prior month’s financial report. The committee, via the treasurer, reports monthly to the Vestry regarding the financial health of our parish. The responsibilities include establishing our annual budget for vestry approval, coordinating the Parochial Report and Diocesan Marks of Mission, and ensuring an annual audit is completed, as well as overseeing all aspects of financial management. The team takes on many responsibilities, including budgeting, counting contributions, income reporting, disbursing and transferring funds, documenting all reimbursed expenses, interacting with the diocese, requesting loans, and more.
