The Chorale, under the direction of Chris A. Williams, is in its 37th season. The concert will take place Sunday, May 6th at 4:00 pm at Church of the Holy spirit. It features Sarah Riddle, soprano, in Mozart's Laudate Dominum from "Vesperae solennes de confessore" and Mascagni's Let us sing Christ our Lord's wondrous story from "Cavalleria Rusticana", and other works by Hogan, Billings, Bright, Parry, Elgar and Walker. A reception with light refreshments follows the concert in the Parish Hall. A free-will offering will be accepted for the pipe organ fund at CHS.
About Sarah Riddle
Sarah Riddle made her opera debut as “The Queen of the Night” in Marshall University’s production of Die Zauberflöte. She knew in that moment that she wanted to pursue vocal performance. Upon completing her undergraduate studies in music and special education, she began work on her Master’s Degree in voice at Westminster Choir College studying under the renowned Sharon Sweet. She has been recognized for her vocal accomplishments with various awards and fellowships such as the Hobson Award for Vocal Excellence. She placed first in the NATS State Competition for Classical singing and in the Eloise Campbell-Long Vocal Competition. She graduated with honors from WCC and is now performing several different gigs a week ranging in vocal style and technical demands. Most recently she has began writing and fronting the band Essie & the Big Chill as “Essie.” They hope to release new music within the year.
